Dovetail Custom Wood and Metal is an architectural manufacturing company that focuses on engineering and building custom products out of wood, metal, and stone for large commercial projects.
Our projects include high-rise hotels, condominiums, medical facilities, schools and universities, and sports complexes.
About the Position:
The Project Manager at Dovetail carries a project from the time of contract through completion.
Each project manager will be responsible for all three divisions (wood, metal, and stone).
Each project manager reports to a Senior Project Manager.
They will also have an Assistant Project Manager under their direction to assist on projects, and a Project Executive to support on each assigned project.
Our project managers will be responsible for managing scope of work ranging from $1million to over $10 million.
Each project can range from 2 months to 2 years depending on the type of construction and complexity.
Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and coordinate projects to ensure on-time completions within budget Evaluate drawings and specifications to determine requirements necessary for project success Inspect work in progress to ensure conformity to specifications and schedules Project positive attitude while establishing effective professional relationships Forecast deficiencies and unrealistic expectations while identifying solutions Create and maintain fluid and effective project schedules Communicate and work closely with customers, vendors, and installers Assist and work with engineering, purchasing and production teams Proactively handle project issues and/or risks Manage budgets, manpower, expenses, and costs to complete Issue and negotiate RFI's and Change Orders
Qualifications:
2-3 years relevant experience in architectural specialties and commercial construction Effective oral and written communication skills Experience managing projects from $500K to $10M Architectural specialties design, installation methods and materials knowledge Aptitude for math Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office Willingness to learn Trade Software packages Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Critical thinker and problem solver Team player with a focused attention to detail Ability to Commute/ relocate Must be experienced in high end architectural millwork Austin, TX 78617:
